For Undergraduate Study

Nationally competitive scholarships are those that draw applicants from all across the United States. They are difficult to win and require substantial preparation—even before you begin the application process.

Tuition, room and board for one year awarded to an upperclassman for outstanding service and leadership. Apply as sophomore or junior.

$1,000 award for upperclassmen. Recipients are selected by nominating units on campus.

Up to $7,500 for undergraduate STEM students who plan to pursue a PhD and a research career. Apply as a sophomore or junior.

$3,000 stipend given to upperclassmen planning collaborative research projects with UW-Madison faculty/staff in any field.

$3,000 stipend awarded to upperclassmen planning collaborative research projects with UW-Madison faculty/staff in an environmental field.

$1,000 award for upperclassmen. Recipients are selected by nominating units on campus.

$2,500 stipend given to sophomore students planning collaborative research projects with UW-Madison faculty/staff in any field.

$2,000 award to two outstanding seniors. Must be nominated by UW-Madison faculty/staff.

Up to $7,000 for undergraduates committed to pursuing a career related to the environment, or students of American Indian/Alaskan native descent committed to a career in Native healthcare or tribal policy. Apply as a sophomore or junior.
