Nationally competitive scholarships are those that draw applicants from all across the United States. They are difficult to win and require substantial preparation—even before you begin the application process.

Up to $35,000 for graduate study in the arts, humanities or social sciences. Apply as a junior.

Post-graduate scholarship for STEM students, funding a one year master’s program at Cambridge University.

Funds a full-time postgraduate degree in any subject available at the University of Cambridge.

Up to $7,500 for undergraduate STEM students who plan to pursue a PhD and a research career. Apply as a sophomore or junior.

Post-graduate scholarship funding one to three years of graduate study at any university in the UK.

Post-graduate scholarship funding a one year master’s program in any discipline at a university in Ireland or Northern Ireland.

Funds accelerated PhD or MD/PhD training for outstanding science students committed to biomedical research careers.

Funds up to three years of research-based graduate study in STEM or social sciences.

Funds up to two years of graduate study – in any field and in any advanced degree-granting program – in the United States.

Post-graduate scholarship funding one to three years of study at Oxford University.

Post-graduate scholarship funding leading to a one year Masters degree as a Schwarzman Scholar at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.

Up to $30,000 to fund graduate study in any field leading to a career in public service. Apply as a junior.

Up to $7,000 for undergraduates committed to pursuing a career related to the environment, or students of American Indian/Alaskan native descent committed to a career in Native healthcare or tribal policy. Apply as a sophomore or junior.
