Campus deadline: November 21, 2016
The prestigious Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship provides $7,500 for undergraduate expenses to students who plan to pursue a Ph.D. and research career in mathematics, the sciences or engineering. (Note: Students who plan to get an MD/Ph.D. would qualify, but not those who plan to pursue an MD alone.)
Current juniors and sophomores–defined as having 1 or 2 additional year(s) of undergraduate study after 2016-17–may apply for the Goldwater. Successful candidates have a strong academic record (3.8 GPA or above), extensive research experience, and three strong letters of recommendation from professors in their field.
